How to bid on acreage areas

Submit your work-bid applications to the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) by Tuesday 28 November 2023 4:00pm local time at the place of submission. NOPTA will not consider incomplete applications or applications submitted outside of these times.

Submitting your application

For each application you need to submit:

• application form signed by all applicants;
• proof of payment for the application fee; and
• accompanying documentation supporting your application (electronic copy, searchable file format).

Applications can be submitted either:

1. via the NEATS Secure Portal (https://secure.neats.nopta.gov.au/SignIn). This is the preferred method of submission. If this is the first time you are submitting an application via the NEATS Secure Portal, please contact NOPTA (ghg@nopta.gov.au) at least two weeks prior to submission to ensure your account is activated, ready for submission. Or;
2. loaded onto a USB, sealed and enclosed in a plain covering envelope clearly marked as “Application for Area [Release Area Number as appropriate] Commercial-in-Confidence". The package must be delivered by hand (couriers accepted) to either the Perth or Melbourne NOPTA office. Please contact: ghg@nopta.gov.au to book a lodgement appointment.
