Consultation on new and revised guidelines, factsheets and forms

NOPTA has today launched a consultation inviting feedback on offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas storage guidance material and approved forms (templates). We want to know if they are easy to understand and action.

We have updated existing guidance material and prepared new guidance and approved forms (templates). This is to reflect amendments to the remade Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2025.

These amendments reflect changes to:

• Annual Titles Assessment Report (ATAR) reporting requirements, including the introduction of approved forms
• Field Development Plan application and approval requirements
• data management, reporting and sample submission requirements
• release timeframes for offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas data and samples.

The remade regulations will come into force on 31 March 2026.
